Still as Stone

August 22, 2017: Ooze

He stood as still as Stonehenge, unable to even blink an eye. He was helplessly speechless. Never in his most creative imagination could he have anticipated the reality that befell him that afternoon. The sun emerged from behind the dark clouds just as a slow rain began to fall from the sky. He remained completely motionless, back upright, facing straight ahead, still without a blink, shoulders relaxed, arms extended by his sides and feet planted into the muddy soil beneath. No matter how stiff like stone, a calming peace slowly oozed from his presence, drifting into the crisp air, meeting the suns emerging rays on this unforgettable afternoon.
