Cowardice at Crossroads

July 11, 2016: Cowardice

Against his will, he decided against it. The undertaking had too many downsides. If he had gone with it and things turned sour, he would regret his carelessness dearly. Just short of the end. He confronted himself with the decision, however, because of the upsides. If he had gone with it and things turned sweet, he would be at peace with the world.

He couldn’t muster the courage. Cowardice led him to avoid regret.

After choosing said path at this crossroad, he continued along. Down the road, he lifted his head up and looked back.

A longing now lived in his eyes. Cowardice had led to him to regret.
